GENERAL INFORMATION:

Tax books open March 1 and taxes are due and payable by October 15 of each year.

It is also the taxpayer's responsibility to examine the tax statement and verify its contents. Should there be an error, please notify the tax collector's office immediately for correction.

Tax statements are mailed to the address on file in the assessor's office. It is the taxpayer's responsibility to notify their office of any change of address.

The Sevier County Collector's office collects property taxes to help support schools, cities, roads. jails, and county expenses based on millage rates set by local governments and voters.

A 10% penalty will be added to Personal Property and Real Estate paid after October 15th plus 10% annual interest on Real Estate.

 

Robert Gentry Bio:

Robert Gentry joined the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department in 1994 and stayed with the department until 2002. In 2004 Gentry joined the South-Central Task Force and stayed though 2013.

In 2013, Robert came back to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department and in 2017 Robert Gentry took office as the Sevier County Sheriff/Collector.

Gentry enjoys hunting and fishing. He also enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren. Robert has been married for thirty-six years.
